Innovative Magnetic Mixing Technology

Metenova is the world leader in magnetically coupled mixing technologies, including both mixers and agitators. Magnetic mixers have had a history of continuous improvement and Metenova has been at the forefront of these advancements, from basic mixing using magnetism to their current line of fully levitating mixers. As a result of this innovation Metenova has developed new mixing products, based on their patented magnetic cushion technology, with improved functionality and enhanced reliability. Magnetic mixers can be used in a variety of applications including chemical; powder and vigorous; emulsification and high shear; low shear; and general mixing processes. As needs vary across industry and application, so does the mixer type. Metenova’s product line is largely separated by process but all utilize their floating Zero-g magnetic bearing technology. Mixers are magnetically coupled, meaning there are no mechanical seals involved, to reduce the risk of cross-contamination between batches or during product changeover. Because of their unique design these mixers are also sterile, or aseptic, by nature. They have been engineered to Clean-In-Place (CIP) with unobstructed fluid paths for high volumes of cleaning agents. Metenova mixers are also available in both metal and plastic configurations. The Zero-g plastic mixer is specifically designed to be cost efficient while still maintaining performance and reliability standards. These mixers are USP class VI and FDA compliant, making them ideal for biopharma manufacturing, especially in processes where material compatibility is a concern or where single-use technologies may be required.
