Unmatched Flexibility and Strength
At the core of the Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra's design is its exceptional flexibility combined with extraordinary strength, thanks to its stainless steel braided cover. This dual characteristic ensures that the hose can withstand high pressures while providing superior flexibility, making it ideal for various applications, including transferring liquids and gases under rigorous conditions. The flexibility allows easy installation in tight spaces, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
Advanced Anti-Static Features
In environments where static build-up is a concern, the Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra / Anti-Static / Stainless Braid offers an advanced solution. It is engineered with a unique anti-static PTFE liner that prevents static build-up inside the hose, thereby minimizing the risk of sparks that could lead to accidents in sensitive environments. This feature makes the hose exceptionally safe for transporting flammable materials, providing peace of mind for industries prioritizing safety.
Superior Chemical Resistance
The Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra is not just about strength and flexibility but also superior chemical resistance. Its PTFE liner is virtually impervious to various chemicals, ensuring the hose can handle different substances without degradation. This chemical resistance extends the hose's lifespan, offering significant cost savings over time as it reduces the need for frequent replacements.
Hygienic and Easy to Clean
Hygiene is paramount in the pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries. The Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra / Anti-Static / Stainless Braid meets the highest standards of cleanliness. The smooth bore of the PTFE liner ensures no crevices for bacteria to hide, making it easy to clean and sanitize. Whether through CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems or SIP (Sterilize-in-Place) processes, the hose maintains its integrity, ensuring the highest hygiene standards are met.
Temperature Resilience
Another standout feature of the Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra is its ability to withstand extreme temperatures. From cryogenic levels to temperatures as high as 260°C (500°F), the hose maintains its performance without compromise. This temperature resilience makes it an ideal choice for applications requiring the transfer of materials at high temperatures or for use in varying environmental conditions.

It also offers customization options to fit specific needs, whether it's different end fittings, custom lengths, or particular certifications. This versatility ensures that industries have a hose solution that perfectly fits their operational needs.
The Aflex Hose Bioflex Ultra / Anti-Static / Stainless Braid is more than just a hose. It's a comprehensive solution designed for industries where safety, efficiency, and reliability are non-negotiable. Its unparalleled flexibility, strength, anti-static features, chemical resistance, hygienic design, temperature resilience, and customization options make it the go-to choice for businesses looking to optimize their operations while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.
Comparing Bioflex Ultra to Convoluted PTFE Hose
Bioflex Ultra sets a new standard in hygiene and cleanability, outperforming convoluted PTFE hoses thanks to its smooth interior that lacks internal convolutions. This design facilitates significantly higher flow rates, over twice that of its counterparts, and enhances its pressure ratings by more than 1.5 times. It features excellent self-draining capabilities when used with PTFE-lined fittings and operates without the whistling noise commonly associated with gases in other hoses.
Bioflex Ultra Versus Conventional Smoothbore Hoses
Regarding conventional smoothbore FEP, PFA, or PTFE-lined rubber hoses, Bioflex Ultra shines by eliminating the need for toxic adhesives in its construction, thus averting any risk of process fluid contamination. It boasts superior flexibility and maintains a consistent internal shape without distortions when flexed, setting it apart from its peers.
Bioflex Ultra Against Silicone Rubber Hose
Compared to silicone rubber hoses, Bioflex Ultra excels in hygienic cleanability due to its non-stick PTFE liner, offering unparalleled resistance to chemical attacks and extreme temperatures. Its chemical resistance is notably superior, especially against potent oxidizing agents. Moreover, Bioflex Ultra can easily handle higher temperatures and pressure levels and is permanently resistant to steam sterilization, unlike silicone hoses, which degrade over time.

Temperature and Pressure Resilience of Bioflex Ultra The Bioflex Ultra demonstrates superior resistance to both temperature and pressure due to its robust construction, significantly surpassing the capabilities of traditional convoluted PTFE lined hoses.
Variations in Maximum Working Pressure (MWP) Based on Temperature: The MWP for the SS grade, as well as for RC, BK, and SI grades of Bioflex Ultra hose, is outlined in the accompanying graph, applicable specifically within the temperature range designated for each hose grade:
Operating Temperature Limits: Bioflex Ultra GP or AS SS: -73ºC to +260ºC Bioflex Ultra GP or AS SS, RC & SS, BK: -40ºC to +150ºC Bioflex Ultra GP or AS SS, SI: -73ºC to +204ºC Bioflex Ultra GP or AS PB: MWP as indicated in the table up to 80ºC, then reduces by 50% between 80ºC and 100ºC (the upper limit for PB), with a minimum temperature threshold of -30ºC.
Temperature and Vacuum Performance Bioflex Ultra hoses of all sizes and grades can maintain a vacuum up to -0.9bar at temperatures up to 200ºC (and 100ºC for TO grades). Beyond these temperatures, the vacuum resistance decreases by 2% for each degree above 200ºC (or 100ºC for TO grades).
Understanding Flow Rates While actual flow rates can be influenced by various factors including hose flexing, the viscosity of the fluid, the design of the end fittings, and more, it's notable that the Bioflex Ultra hose consistently delivers flow rates approximately twice as high as those of traditional convoluted PTFE hoses. This performance metric holds true when comparing hose assemblies equipped with PTFE lined (unrestricted bore) end fittings.
Calculating Flow Rates for Bioflex Ultra Hose Should there be a need to estimate the flow rate for a specific Bioflex Ultra hose assembly, or to identify the pressure necessary to achieve a desired flow rate, these figures can often be provisionally calculated by Liquidyne of Bioflex Ultra.
However, it's important to recognize that such calculations are typically valid only for fluids with a viscosity similar to water and for hose assemblies that feature PTFE lined end fittings, ensuring there are no bore restrictions at either end of the hose.
